I don't know if anyone who reads this cares about it at all, but I wanted to update about how this second pregnancy is going! I had my very last doctor's appointment today, and we will be inducing Josh on Sunday June 2nd, as we had planned previously. I am SO excited to be so close to getting my second son here, I can't wait to hold him and snuggle him and welcome him to this life!
This pregnancy has been much harder on me that the first one. For one thing, for about the last month and a half I have had two to three ribs out of place which has been extremely painful and sore. I can't get any relief from the pain, it doesn't matter how I stand, sit, or lay down, so it's been a long and tiring experience! But, Josh is really low now, so hopefully that will bring some pain relief before I have to go through the labor and delivery.
At my appointment today we discovered that Josh is at "zero station", meaning he is literally as head down and low in my pelvis as he can get without crowning! He is definitely in position to come out! My doctor really warned me to take it easy so I would make it to Sunday without going into labor on my own, she'd really like me to make it to the 39 week mark just to make sure everything is developed and healthy. So, I have been banned from deep cleaning, hauling laundry baskets, and any other slightly strenuous activity! She told me that if I didn't have a child at home to take care of that she would put me on partial bed rest. So, I'm glad I have an excuse to not do bed rest! Ben is of course taking her directions VERY literally, and he has hardly let me lift a finger this evening! :) We were also told that this labor should be very short and the delivery should be short and easy as well since he is already SO low, I am dilated to almost a 2 and 85% effaced already, and it's a second baby. I hope this hold true on Sunday, it would be amazing to get a short delivery after 27 hours last time!
I am all ready to welcome Josh to the family, I have all of his clothes washed and organized and put in the dresser, his car seat is set up and ready to go, and I washed all the bassinet coverings to make sure everything is totally clean. We are going to try to do something really fun with Noah on Saturday before he isn't our only child anymore, we are thinking we will take him to the local pool. Noah so far still doesn't really understand about Josh coming to our family, I think he will just have to figure it out once he gets here. Luckily, Noah really likes to be my "helper" and help me with laundry, putting away dishes, and other little tasks around the house. I hope that if I have him be a helper with the baby as much as possible that he might not have too hard of a time adjusting to a baby in the house.
We are SO excited to welcome this new son, I can't wait to see what he looks like and how he will act. I really hope he is a better nurser than Noah was, we really struggled with nursing. I am so excited to be done being pregnant, and so excited to be a mommy to TWO little boys!! :)
